Discovery Programs (New York, NY)

Junior Campers is a summer adventure for NYC two year olds! It runs from 9:00am–12:00 noon 2, 3 or 5 days a week and ends with a lunchbox lunchtime. In a warm and supportive atmosphere, campers enjoy sprinkler play and rooftop picnics. They jump and balance in our large, fullypadded gym, and investigate art and science projects in the classroom. And there’s always time for group games, dramatic play, stories, songs and block building. Our experienced, caring teachers create predictable routines and supportive experiences enabling youngsters to enjoy all aspects of camp.

Discovery Campers is designed for active,fun-loving 3- and 4-year-olds and runs from 9:00am until 1:00pm daily. Each morning children arrive with a smile ready for new art, science and cooking experiences. They love outdoor play on our rooftop playground, complete with sprinklers, play houses, balls and hoops.

Movement, music and fantasy play are led by Discovery’s talented staff and alternate with gymnastics training in a huge, fully-equipped gym. Discovery Campers enjoy neighborhood adventure trips - to a pet shop, the library or a nearby playground – and build on these experiences through a variety of classroom projects. Each day mornings end with a lunchbox lunchtime and a story.

Costumes & Cartwheels (Ages 5-10)
Elementary age students make the most of Discovery’s large gymnasium and theater spaces – not to mention its talented gymnastics and acting coaches! – Costumes & Cartwheels provides summer afternoons that are creative, social and athletic all in one. As a class, children compose and perform their own play, complete with costumes and stage sets, and even travel to an outside children’s theater performance.

They perfect gymnastics skills and incorporate these into group performance routines. In between, they let loose with outdoor roof play and imaginative games and art. Children between the ages of 5- and 10-years-old who are looking for an exciting, fun-filled summer need look no further!
