San Francisco Children's Art Center - Big Kid Weekly Workshops
Created especially for children in grades ages 5 to 10, our summer Big Kid Weekly Workshops promote artistic expertise while helping children develop perceptual, story-telling, creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Big Kid classes deepen your child's experience in the arts as well as other subjects. While delving into a tactile material or engaging theme, such as Photography, Puppetry, Clay, Sculpture or Book Arts, we focus on the critical thinking, creativity, and self-confidence that grow out of the creative process. We will also take advantage of our unique location by the Bay, in view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Marina Green, and the various art and science exhibits that populate the Fort Mason campus.
Workshops take place Monday-Friday afternoons, starting at 1:30. They go until 4:30 or 5:30 depending on the week, as the topic varies by week.
Dates of camp will be June 11-August 24. Weekly topic schedule to be determined by mid-January.
Enrollment is on a weekly basis, and drop-ins are available.
