Eastern Regional Park
One of Baltimore County's dynamic regional parks, the 122.5-acre Eastern Regional Park offers a wide variety of recreational facilities that are sure to please visitors of all ages. The park's 9,000- square foot community center has been open for use since Fall of 2002, and provides much needed space for the indoor recreation programs of the area's recreation and parks councils.
Playground
A large wheelchair-accessible playground has been a hit with children, their parents, and grandparents. Children enjoy the park's playground, which features an assortment of equipment, including swings, overhead climbers, game panels, chin-up bars, and slides for ages 2 through 12.
Life's a Picnic
Three picnic pavilions are available for reservation. The pavilions are wheelchair-accessible, and are located in close proximity to the playground and paved path network. Three large pavilions provide the perfect setting for family picnics and group and company outings, and may be reserved through the Eastern Area Office (410-887-0258).
Off the Beaten Track:
A network of paved paths meander between the park's ball diamonds and athletic fields, offering an enjoyable venue for walkers, joggers, roller bladers, and bicyclists alike. A one-mile route has been marked on the paths to allow park visitors to gauge the distance they've covered and time themselves if so desired. The paths connect with natural trails that traverse the park's wooded areas and skirt the edge of Saltpeter Creek. Nature enthusiasts may be lucky enough to spot a great blue heron from one of the overlooks that provide views of the creek and adjoining wetlands.
