390th Memorial Museum

The 390th Memorial Museum in Tucson, Arizona is a tribute to the airmen of the 390th Bombardment Group who served in World War II. The museum houses the courageous stories of the men who flew the B-17 bombers over Europe.

This is one of the World War II bomb units that gave air support to the famous battles of the European theater. Movie images contain aircraft filling the skies over Europe are images of the 390th Bombardment Group.

The museum is a treasure of World War II images, memorabilia and personal histories of the achievements of the 390th Bombardment Group, an Eighth Air Force unit that was based in England from 1934 to 1945.

Located on the grounds of the Pima Air & Space Museum, the 390th houses a restored B-17G aircraft, called “I’ll be Around.” Visitors can look inside the historic aircraft, and hear the stories of the missions the plane flew from men who lived World War II history.

The museum is a private research center for the Air Campaign Over Europe, and houses over 90,000 pages of the 390th combat history and over 10,000 photographs inside the Joseph A. Moller Library. The “Top Cover for the J Group” mural, one of the most recognized World War II paintings, is housed at the museum.
