Gumbo Limbo Nature Center

Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, one of Florida’s natural gems lies quietly hidden on the coast at the southern end of Palm Beach County. Nestled within a hardwood hammock, the Center offers an up-close look at the barrier island’s inhabitants. Sea turtles, tropical fish, sharks, and stingrays glide through the water in outdoor marine aquariums. The Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Facility treats sick and injured sea turtles so they may be released back into the ocean. Butterflies flutter around in an open-air butterfly garden. Take a shaded walk along our boardwalk and nature trail. Climb the 40-foot observation tower to get a 360° view of the island’s treasures from the ocean to the Intracoastal. Make sure you stop at our gift store and take home a treasure of your own. Note: the boardwalk loop and tower are closed for renovation until further notice.
