Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats Education Center
One hour from Boston, Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats Education Center is a magnet for birders and wildlife enthusiasts of all ages from all around the world. From the center's windows, a panoramic river vista provides a backdrop for an ever-changing spectacle of wildlife. Natural history programs are designed for all ages and all levels of experience. Special features include quick and easy access to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge (Plum Island), a wide range of family and children's activities including summer camp, weekly birding walks, a seasonal bird banding station, a nature shop, and proximity to historic Newburyport's shops, restaurants, and cultural treasures.
