Rockburn Branch Park

Explore varied natural areas along the 4.25 mile trail which meanders through scenic woodlands, fresh water marshes, and stream valleys. The park lies along the fall line between the Piedmont plateau and the coastal plain, an ideal location to glimpse migrating hawks. Park visitors may also see bluebirds which nest in the area.

During park construction, American Indian artifacts were uncovered. The artifacts are remnants of encampments in the Ilchester area thousands of years ago. The location may have been attractive to the American Indian because of its proximity to the Patapsco River and the abundant supply of nuts and upland game.

Softball/baseball and multi-purpose fields are available by permit. Priority is given to sports leagues and community groups. The permit applicant must be a Howard County resident. There are reservation fees and tournament fees. Call 410-313-4626 for more information.

You may use the tennis courts on a first-come, first-served basis except when lessons or tournaments have been schedule. See posted schedules.
