Audubon Center & Sanctuary
Huge nature center building sits on 600 acres of wetland preserve. Inside, children can play with blocks, puzzles, and puppets while grownups can read about nature and environmental issues. Touch tables abound with objects from the natural world. Comfortable seating is found between the huge picture windows outside of which are birdfeeders and the children's library. A nature store offers books, games, toys, field guides, birdseed, bird feeders, nest boxes, and more. Live education animals include a non-releasable bald eagle, turtles, fish, frogs, and a snake.
Outside, enjoy easy walking on 5.5 miles of trails that take you through fields and forests and near the edges of ponds.
