Garfield Park Nature Center

Opened in 1987 and renovated in 2003, Garfield Park Nature Center offers a walk through Garfield Park’s history dating back to the 1890s. Enter a Victorian parlor and “travel” forward to the present day. Discover the honeybee tree and kids’ corner, stroll through the Wildlife Garden, or just relax with a book or friends by the “lodge” fi replace. Visit with nature center staff and volunteers who are here to make your visits enjoyable. A variety of programs is available to all guests, including the annual Bug City event where bugs are fun and the people are too! The staff
also performs numerous cultural history programs including the fascinating Escape on the Underground Railroad re-enactment. Trails nearby will take you to various habitats, historic points of interest and Mill Creek Falls.
