The Potomac River Gorge Trail at Riverbend Park
The Potomac River Gorge is a globally rare environment because of its location on a bend in the river downstream from the Shenandoah Mountains. The gorge trail includes a self-guided, 2.5-mile hike in Riverbend Park along the Potomac River. Start in the picnic area near the Riverbend Park visitor center. Find out why The Nature Conservancy named this area "one of the most significant natural areas in the eastern United States."
