Summer Reading Club: Volunteer/Teen Service Learner Summer Orientation

Vista Branch, San Diego County Library

Volunteer @ the Vista Library!
Are you a teen looking to volunteer over the summer? Do you want volunteer hours for college applications, high school requirements, or work experience? Do you want to help your community and make a difference? Do your parents just want you out of the house!? Then the Vista Library wants your help!

During the summer we offer a couple of volunteer opportunities to teens. Sign-up people for the Summer Reading Challenge (SRC) and give out reading incentives/prizes! Work directly with Librarians and help run library SRC programs. Learn valuable customer service skills and day-to-day behind-the-scenes operations! Decorate the library with floor-to-ceiling pixel art! Have moderate to extensive experience with audio/visual equipment (e.g. GoPro action cameras, iPads, telescopic stands, handheld stabilizers,) and/or media editing equipment (e.g. Apple iMovie, Macbook Air, etc.)? Then help make regular and time-lapse videos and photographs for library use! Lastly, help with Feeding America's Summer Food Service Program and distribute free lunches to children! If you are interested, please come to this orientation (no registration is required).

Ages 14 - 17
Minimum 40 hour commitment.
