National Air and Space Museum

The Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum maintains the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world. It is also a vital center for research into the history, science, and technology of aviation and space flight, as well as planetary science and terrestrial geology and geophysics. This is a wonderful spot for older children. I wouldnt bring my toddler here. While it is open to everyone and is free, I dont think the little ones get anything out of this. The IMAX theater is one of the best I have seen. Biggest negative is that it is in DC and there is no parking.
