The Georgia Racing Hall of Fame (GRHOF) officially re-opened August 2007. The museum, recognized by the state legislature as the official home of the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame, recognizes prominent members of Georgias racing heritage. Gordon Pirkle, local businessman and long time racing enthusiast, can often be seen taking groups of people through the museum and sharing his love for this segment of Dawsonvilles history. Pirkle explains how stock car racing roots started in moonshine manufacturing and distribution.
