Skidaway Island State Park

Two nature trails wind through marshes, live oaks, cabbage-palmettos and longleaf pines, allowing visitors to watch for deer, raccoon, shore birds and rare migrating birds such as the Painted Bunting. Observation towers provide another chance for visitors to search for wildlife on this beautiful island. A giant ground sloth replica, birding station, nature exhibits and reptile room are featured in the park's nature center. ACTIVITIES: Hiking - 1-mile Sandpiper Nature Trail (accessible) and 3-mile Big Ferry Trail Birding - Colonial Coast Birding Trail Swimming -- pool only, no beach access Biking Ranger-led Activities
