Come to a place where the past is always present, where legacies linger and legends meet Deadwood's fabled Adams Museum & House. Deadwood's Adams Museum is the oldest history museum in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Pioneer businessman W.E. Adams built the museum in 1930 as a memorial to his family and to honor the early pioneers that settled the Black Hills. The Historic Adams House, built in 1892, is an elegant Victorian mansion which has undergone a detailed, museum-quality restoration. This grand home bears witness to the story of two 19th century families, and reveals a cultured lifestyle not commonly associated with the American West. LEARN MORE The Adams Museum & House, Inc. is a non-profit educational organization that oversees the operation of Deadwood's Adams Museum, Historic Adams House, and Homestake-Adams Research and Cultural Center.
