Cowan Railroad Museum is a national landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Housed in a 1904 Depot, the museum features a fine collection of railroad photos, relics and memorabilia from the industry that not only built Cowan, but also keeps Cowan on the move!

Outdoor static display includes a rare Porter-type steam locomotive along with a flat car, and bay window caboose that operated on the legendary Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway (NC&St.L).

Museum includes model layout and small gift shop.

Home school groups are welcome with advance reservations. Tours are customized to the appropriate age groups.

Admission is free but donations are greatly appreciated, as the museum is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that depends on membership dues and donations to keep the doors open and the lights on.
