Cowan Railroad Museum is a national landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Housed in a 1904 Depot, the museum features a fine collection of railroad photos, relics and memorabilia from the industry that not only built Cowan, but also keeps Cowan on the move!
Outdoor static display includes a rare Porter-type steam locomotive along with a flat car, and bay window caboose that operated on the legendary Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway (NC&St.L).
Museum includes model layout and small gift shop.
Home school groups are welcome with advance reservations. Tours are customized to the appropriate age groups.
