"This is an exceptional music program that I highly recommend. Julie’s approach to music is unique, engaging, fun and kinesthetic. Younger students are taught in small groups and receive a strong introduction to music through a variety of instruments, many of which they get to keep. Julie can play just about anything and let’s the children do so as well. They learn to read and write music in parallel with their learning to read and write words in school. As they progress, they move into group and semi-private piano with her. Prior to group piano, they make dulcimers which, again, is a novel idea that the kids love. They actually build and decorate their own instrument. Although she also offers private piano lessons, she prepares children well for the study of any instrument and refers students to private instructors for piano as well as guitar, flute, harp, etc. She also teaches piano to adults who may or may not have had any music training. She firmly believes that anyone can play an instrument and play it well. Her love of music is contagious! If you are interested in a fun, fast-moving and exciting music program for your child (or yourself), I highly recommend this Houston music / piano studio"
