The St. George Dinosaur Discovery Site (SGDS) museum is a 15,000 square foot facility built in 2005. The museum houses over 2000 individual very rare and unique dinosaur tracks and other 195-198 million year old (Early Jurassic) fossils and geological specimens. The quantity and quality of the fossils at the SGDS is unmatched anywhere else in the world. There is a working prep lab where youngsters can watch volunteers work on fossils as well as a number of other exhibits and replicas that will interest young visitors. In the Special Display room, there is usually an interactive area specifically designed for families as well as a children's dino play area. Keep an eye out for Dino Days in May as there are always events specifically aimed at children, though the museum is still a fascinating trip for kids even on an average day!
