Green Spring Gardens

Green Spring Gardens includes a wooded stream valley with ponds, a naturalistic native plant garden, over 20 thematic demonstration gardens, a greenhouse filled with tropical plants, a horticultural center, a well-stocked horticultural reference library, historic landscapes, historic buildings, the Garden Gate Plant Shop and two gift shops.

The gardens and educational programs focus on practical landscaping techniques that are appropriate for the Washington metro area. Other programs emphasize historic influences on the land and the role of Fairfax County residents in preserving cultural resources.

The gardens feature a wide variety of trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, annuals, bulbs and vegetables that provide ideas and inspiration for the home gardener.

Green Spring Gardens is a year-round gold mine of information and inspiration for home gardeners. Visit often to see the changing gardens designed by Beatrix Farrand and the guest art exhibits.
